| Introduction to the structure of ignition coil |

The ignition coil is mainly composed of iron core, winding, rubber wood cover, porcelain cup, etc;
(1) The iron core is made of stacked strip shaped silicon steel that are mutually insulated. The sheets are isolated by an oxide layer or coated with insulating materials, and the outer layer is covered with an insulating sleeve to enhance magnetic flux.
(2) The primary winding is layered with enameled wire with a diameter of 0.5-1.0mm around the outer layer of the primary winding to facilitate heat dissipation. The primary winding has 230-370 turns. There are also several layers of insulation paper wrapped outside to enhance insulation. After winding, immerse the winding in a mixture of paraffin and rosin in vacuum to further strengthen the insulation. The function of the primary winding is to use the changes in current inside the winding to achieve electromagnetic induction.
(3) The secondary winding is wound with enameled wire with a diameter of 0.06-0.10mm around the outer insulation sleeve of the iron core, with approximately 11000-26000 turns. To enhance insulation and prevent mechanical damage, each layer of wire is separated by insulation paper, with the outermost layer having multiple layers of insulation paper or covered with cardboard sleeves. Its function is to generate mutual inductance electromotive force.
(4) A magnetic steel sleeve is installed between the primary winding of the steel sleeve and the outer shell. Roll magnetic steel sheets into a cylindrical shape to form a part of the magnetic circuit, creating a semi closed magnetic circuit for the iron core and reducing magnetic leakage.
(5) The filling material is filled with asphalt or transformer oil inside the shell to enhance insulation and prevent moisture infiltration. When filling with transformer oil, the coil has good heat dissipation, low temperature rise, and good insulation properties. In recent years, gas insulation such as sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) or plastic shaped insulation have also been used.
(6) An additional resistor is installed on the exterior of the triple junction ignition terminal housing, and its two ends are connected to the "+switch" and "switch" terminals on the rubberwood cover to improve ignition performance. There is no additional resistance for the two terminal ignition coil. Connect an additional resistance wire between the ignition switch and the "+" terminal of the ignition coil
